Mrs. Wilson’s Class Syllabus
Welcome to Kindergarten at Phenix City Elementary School (PCES). We are excited for you and your child to become a part of the PCES family. I hope that you grow to love our school as much as we do! We will be learning many new things and sharing many new experiences this year, and I am excited to begin this adventure with you!
Introduction:
My name is Mrs. Wilson and I am your child’s Kindergarten teacher for the 2017-2018 school year. I am a graduate of Auburn University, where I earned a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education. This is my 6th year teaching in the Phenix City School District. I taught kindergarten for five years at Phenix City Elementary, and this will be my first year teaching first grade at PCES.
Take Home/Homework Folders:
Student folders will be sent home each day. This will be our daily communicator. I will send notes, forms, graded papers, and homework in this folder. Please review this folder every night and take out information in the back pocket labeled “Keep at home”. Papers in the front pocket labeled “return to school” should be signed/reviewed and returned to school the next day. The folder will include your child’s “Behavior Chart”. Your child’s daily behavior will be indicated each day. Please check the folder everyday and sign/initial in the appropriate space.
Inside your child’s homework folder are sheet protectors that include a Unit Review, Fry Word List, Wonders Spelling Word List Units 1-Unit 6, My Word Building Helper, and a 100 Chart. These papers are in the folder to help with homework and are to remain in your child’s homework folder at all times.
